Time heals no wound, he thinks. And to him, it's true. He felt them appear, angry and red and bleeding, and he knows somewhere, they are still there, cast into the underworld of his flesh. Every past hurt waits inside him. The many ghosts of wounds past scream beneath his skin, the thrum of vocal rage he can feel by the pulsing of his heart.
Some have forgotten the dragon wars, and history recalls little of the dragon men. They are myth. But Mashiro and his invisible scars are not.
